Suggest a Film

Hey guys. So I figured since I got time to hang on Netflix like a slob tonight, if y’all could be so kind as to suggest what’s cool and happening in the film department? I could hit a Redbox too, if I’m feeling less lazy.

So I’m gonna start some shit up. On Tuesdays, or when I remember, it’s Suggest-a-Film. Check out what’s streaming on Netflix and offer up a suggestion. If you got time and an idea (show, documentary, movie, tv series, etc) then make a post and let’s see it done up!

The Lottery

With all this talk about schools and education, I found this one to be pretty eye-opening. It makes me think good and hard about where I’d send my babies when I had them. I grew up in upstate New York for those of you who don’t know - cow country, mostly. We had a moderate school with a somewhat reliable score. Mostly white bread and cookie cutter, but not all kids got it that easy. Take a moment if you’ve got it to hear the stories of kids who want to do better with their lives.

I’m writing this on behalf of text tattoos.

Lately people have had mad beef with text tattoos. Some artists think that it disrupts the flow of a sleeve or piece, that it looks awkward and misplaced. I agree on SOME aspects, but chances are if you’re a young lady who wants to work in a business setting, you aren’t going to get sleeved. So what’s the problem with a saying or expression that means shit to you, ya feel me? Exactly. Let people choose what goes on their own bodies. This image was used recently in a post of a fellow tattoo artist that was making an example of how “poor” this choice was.

I don’t think it’s a poor choice. I think it’s meaningful to her. Artists that refuse to open their minds will forever be in the dark.
